Art in Agriculture is an annual series through which artists and scientists examine a topic related to agriculture, food, the environment or natural resources.
Through the spring 2011 Art in Agriculture Initiative—Imagining Animals—the College of Agriculture, the College of Liberal Arts and the Department of Art at Auburn University explored the place of animals in art, ecology and agriculture.
Events included the following:
SCREENING of 2010 Emmy Award–winning HBO movie Temple Grandin, a film that explores Grandin’s life as an autistic woman who has become one of the top scientists in animal welfare and in improving livestock-handling facilities. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion of issues raised in the movie.
