AUBURN, Ala.—Three new administrative staff positions created to enhance operations and communications within Auburn University's College of Agriculture and the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station (AAES) have been filled, according to Luther Waters, College of Agriculture dean and AAES director.
Kira Bowen, a professor in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology, has been named research coordinator for the College and will divide her time between her professorship and her new position.
As research coordinator, she will organize the review of AAES projects and will work to identify research needs and coordinate research efforts. She will serve as liaison with the Office of the Vice President for Research.
Also serving a dual role for the College will be Bart Green, who has been appointed as the first facilities coordinator for the College. Green has been with AU's Department of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures in a research position since 1983 and, effective Oct. 1, will be promoted to research associate professor. As with Bowen, his time will be divided between his two positions.
Green's new administrative position calls for him to help department heads, faculty, and staff coordinate the maintenance, problem-solving, construction and/or renovation needs, space allocation, and planning for facilities used by the College of Agriculture. He will be the link between the departments in the College and the AU Facilities Division.
Filling the new post as special projects coordinator for the College of Ag/AAES is Kelley Terry. Terry, who received her bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from Auburn in 1995, most recently worked as program planning supervisor for AGCO Corp. in Duluth, Ga.
In her new role, she is responsible for the keeping the dean's calendar, planning meetings and improving internal communications.
