AUBURN, Ala.—The 2011 edition of the ever-popular Fall Ag Roundup and Taste of Alabama Agriculture at Auburn University’s Ag Heritage Park will get under way bright and early Homecoming Saturday, Nov. 19, featuring a cornucopia of foods and food products produced by Alabama farmers. The event, located at the corner of South Donahue and Lem Morrison drives, will open at 8 a.m. and wrap up at 11 a.m., an hour before kickoff of the Auburn vs. Samford homecoming football game.
Ag Roundup, an Auburn homecoming tradition that dates back to the late 1970s, is a super-sized tailgate party that each year draws thousands of Auburn fans who, for the $5 admission fee, can sample everything from corn dogs, sausage, grilled burgers and fried catfish to rabbit, boiled peanuts, turnip greens and sweet potato fries.
In addition to the array of foods, Roundup will include live and silent auctions to fund College of Agriculture scholarships, informative displays by on- and off-campus groups and organizations, music, children’s activities and visits from the AU Pep Band and the AU Cheerleaders.
Ag Roundup is co-sponsored by Auburn’s Agricultural Alumni Association and College of Agriculture, with corporate support from John Deere, SunSouth LLC, Milo’s Tea, Snead Ag, TriGreen and KMG Chemicals.
Admission is $5, payable at the gate; children 6 and under are admitted free.
