AUBURN—The sixth annual David Partridge Memorial Big Bass Tournament will be held Saturday, May 5, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Auburn University’s North Station research ponds near the Auburn campus.
Tournament proceeds go to the David Partridge Memorial Endowment at Auburn University, which funds an annual award for fisheries graduate students studying the conservation and management of recreational fisheries.
The tournament was established in memory of David Guy Partridge, who earned his master’s degree in sports fisheries management from Auburn’s Department of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures in 1997 and went on to work for 10 years as a fisheries biologist for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources . He died in a traffic accident in his home state of Iowa in 2007.
In this year’s memorial tournament, several ponds at the station will be open to participants, and boats will be welcome. The anglers who land the largest bass and bream will win rod/reel combos.
The registration fee is $25 for adults; participants 16 and under may fish at no charge. The registration form is available online at and must be submitted by Monday, April 30.
