AUBURN, Ala.—The College of Agriculture’s E.T. York Distinguished Lecturer Series, in conjunction with Auburn University’s Littleton-Franklin Lectures, will present anti-hunger activist Roger Thurow delivering the lecture “The Last Hunger Season: Meeting the Great Challenge of Feeding the World,” Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 4 p.m. in the auditorium of Langdon Hall.
Thurow spent three decades in Europe and Africa as a foreign correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, covering many major international news stories, from the Cold War to the humanitarian crises of the first decade of this century.
He is co-author of the book “Enough: Why the World’s Poorest Starve in an Age of Plenty” and author of “The Last Hunger Season: A Year in an African Farm Community on the Brink of Change” and is a senior fellow of global agriculture and food policy with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and a fellow of the anti-poverty ONE campaign.
