In Memoriam
Joe Lewis Koon, 70, of Auburn, passed away in April. A native of Gordo, Koon completed his Ph.D. at Auburn in 1968 and served on the agricultural engineering (now biosystems engineering) faculty for more than three decades, retiring in 1998 as an associate professor emeritus and a professional engineer.
Koon enjoyed hunting, gardening, reading and participating in team sports. He was a long-time coach of youth sports in Auburn and was an avid Auburn University sports fan. He is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Rebecca Buford Koon, three children, two brothers and four grandchildren.
Those wishing to honor Koon are asked to make donations to their favorite charities.
